Saturday Morning Saw Work

Saturday February 22, 2025

This morning, some of our members gathered at the station to "sharpen" their cutting skills.  Assistant Chief Siminski prepared four cutting props to allow our members to safely practice cutting various materials.  Scenarios included ring removal, impalement injuries, residential roof ventilation and rebar cutting.

We carry chainsaws, rotary saws, reciprocating saws, angle grinders and Dremels on our apparatus.  This wide range of equipment allows us to handle a variety of situations, from structure fire ventilation to "man vs machine" incidents.  Members were tasked with choosing the right tool for each situation from our cache of equipment.  The training was a great refresher for our experienced responders, and a great hands on learning experience for our newer members.
