Chaffee-Sardinia VFC Receives New Generators from Waste Management
Tuesday February 13, 2024
The long awaited traffic signal at the corner of Olean Road and Genesee Road in Sardinia is finally here. While this is an important safety device in town, the added traffic signal needs extra attention during power outages to keep traffic flowing safely.
A request was submitted by the fire company to the town of Sardinia for assistance in procuring two new generators to operate the traffic signals on Olean Road at NY Route 39 and at Genesee Road. From there, Waste Management of Chaffee stepped up to donate two new Honda generators and loan one while the others were on order. The two new Honda generators are smaller, quieter and more efficient than the previous generator. Their lighter weight allows one firefighter to deploy the generator without causing unnecessary strain while lifting.
The Chaffee-Sardinia Fire Company would like to thank Waste Management of Chaffee for making the generous donation. Pictured is Chief Ron Kenyon and President Krissy Kittleson with Micki Baker and Dave Baker from Waste Management in Chaffee.
